We have just released a minor revision of Sketches, our native iPhone app. We have removed a dependency with a dynamic library (libarmfp.dylib) that we took for granted, but was in fact installed by the BSD Package. This prevents new users from experiencing crashes when trying Sketches.app without having installed the BSD System first.
It looks like this is a common problem with many apps, more so as easier jailbreak methods are available that do not require the user to ssh into his iPhone or install any low-level command line tools.
Other than avoiding the frustration of new users, this new release does not add any new features. We have spent the last few weeks completely focused on the release of a fully 64-bit and Leopard compatible version of Xslimmer, which is an intermediate release before we finish the beta-testing and localization of what will become Xslimmer 1.5.
PS: Sketches works on your iPod Touch, too.

Hi, just discovered your wonderful app in the installer. I think I'll be using it a lot. What would make a wonderful app even better though, would be if it would have zoom and pan functionality (preferably with the pinch gesture :-)), and if one could add text.
Hi can anyone tell me A if sketches will work with 1.1.2 in the UK?
And how do us idiots actually get it into the iphone?

Great job on the app guys...I jus have one question. When using on the touch where does it export your sketches to?
Hi
Just a quick note to say we mentioned Sketches in our post on Great Apps for iPhone newcomers to check out, here:

Cheers …
Nice article, Patrick, thanks a lot :)
We do have a lot of ideas and new features planned for Sketches. After having spent a few weeks focused on Xslimmer (preparing Christmas promos and a new release that will be out soon), we'll be thrilled to have some time to work on Sketches again. Hopefully, we'll have a very solid beta (or maybe something close to a 1.0 version) by the time Apple officially opens up their API.
Thanks!
That sounds great. I should also mention that my daughter (4.75 yrs old) loves the app too - likes making her hair green (uh-oh) with it, and adding funny stuff to people's pics :)
Hi,
The app looks great. Had a few questions. Im a math teacher and I see some really cool areas to us it. If using a pen like for a hand palm are you able to write good enough to show your calculations on a procjector or a tv(using the av cabel)? In class for the students. And can you then save it and make an pdf doc that will be good enough to read if you mail it to students?
Great app!!!
Hi...i've installed the app on my iTouch and whenever I choose the "Export to Photo Album" option it says its done it successfully. But when I go to Photo Albums there is no file. Any ideas why?
@s6xshotta - Are you running firmware 1.1.3? The newest firmware uses different file system locations, and therefore the export feature does not work properly. We have already developed a patch for this issue, it will be available in version 0.5, which is being tested now :)
Hi Pedro...i'm on version 1.1.2 still. Do I still have to wait for you .5 release?
Thanks for your prompt response.
hi i have one question if sketches says beta expired i must buy it or what?
